For years and years kids and parents have looked forward to the annual Trick or Treat tradition held in Lovingston on Halloween night. The 2015 event didn’t disappoint. Hundreds and hundreds of kids roamed the streets of Lovingston checking out the ghosts and goblins!
Then as quickly as Halloween came, it faded away in the early morning hours on Sunday as November officially began and Daylight Saving Time ended.
Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend on Sunday – November 1, 2015 at 2AM, but for simplicity’s sake it’s easier to turn your clock back one hour before bed on Saturday night (October 31st)

Final preps are being made by area farmers cross the Blue Ridge as daylight grows shorter and colder weather looms on the horizon. Above, Brian Kidd parked the tractor after a day of raking up the hay for baling later in the week. After that, things are pretty much over in the fields, then attention turns to calving season in the colder weeks of winter ahead.

Fall in the Blue Ridge means festivals of all kinds and this year brought a new twist to the area with The Virginia Moonshine Festival! It’s certainly nothing new, so to speak, to the hills of Virginia, but this one was all in fun and very public. Silverback Distillery was the setting for the first one this fall with another planned in Richmond on November 21st.
