It’s official! As of Friday morning at 7:44 AM EDT, Spring is here. Our Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura, found a Junco that is all excited about it too! According to National Geographic, “in the Northern Hemisphere spring officially begins at 7:44 a.m. ET on Friday, March 20, 2009—the vernal equinox, or spring equinox.” They have a really nice article you can read by clicking here, that has more than you’d ever want to know about Spring.

Plans are underway to expand services at Blue Ridge Medical Center to include dental care. If dental services are added, they will offer a sliding fee scale based on income level just as is already done for medical care. BRMC wants to know how you feel about that.

It was a perfect start to the baseball season. Warm temperatures, trees budding, and a nice win by the Nelson County High School Governors against Buckingham by a score of 11 to 6. Our Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura, came down to the lower elevations last night to grab these fantastic shots. You know Spring is just about here when baseball starts!
