It’s here! The long awaited playground equipment that will be installed at The Rockfish Valley Community Center this weekend has arrived. Margaret Clair, who had the vision for the playground, and has worked tirelessly to raise the funds, couldn’t have been happier. A crew from Highland Propane in Lovingston used one of their trucks to help offload the huge wooden crate from a semi.

Margaret signs for the equipment after it is dropped at the site of the new playground.

Nellysford/Greenfield
Nelson County, Virginia

Much of the day Tuesday was partly sunny, but late in the day a brief and narrow line of thunderstorms moved across the northern sections of Nelson County. Ann Strober perfectly nailed this shot of the approaching storms as they moved into the Rockfish Valley from the west over The Blue Ridge Parkway.

Many folks some brief pea sized hail as the quick storms moved through the area.

Nelson County, Virginia
After a Monday filled with rain and afternoon thunderstorms, Tuesday promises much of the same, but with a bit more sunshine. Most of Monday afternoon and evening was spent under a tornado watch, but here in the immediate Nelson area, nothing ever developed of any concern. On the average around 1.5 to 2.0″ of rain fell by midnight last night.

After sunny skies this morning, rain showers and possible thunderstorms continue today and tonight with a lingering shower Wednesday. Temps may cool enough Wednesday night for light frost across the area. Low & mid 80’s are in the forecast for the upcoming weekend.
