If you’re like most of us living here in Nelson, you sometimes use the BRP as a way to get from here to there more quickly. And if you are a visitor, you want to know whether the parkway is open or not. Most of us make the trip up only to find the gates are closed!
Now you can check out the road conditions on the parkway here in Nelson by going to our Blue Ridge Parkway Road Report. Many times in the winter months the BRP can be closed for weeks, depending on the weather. Now you can find out.

Santa is not just for kids! What about Rover and pretty kitty? For several years now, Larry Whitaker and Judy Barnes, owners of Blue Moon Antique Mall in Lovingston, have opened their doors to Almost Home SPCA for their annual Paws With Claus fund raiser. It gives pets a chance to get their photo made with Santa, just in time for Christmas! We’ve been telling you about the unique event for several years.
