BRL just received word that Randy Taylor, the man charged with the murder and abduction of Alexis Murphy, has been found GUILTY
After the jurors returned a verdict of guilty on all counts, they again deliberated and returned with a penalty of two life sentences.

Congrats to the Nelson Relay For Life participants! This past weekend 28 teams and 367 participants raised in excess of $60,000 in early pledges. As a matter of fact RFL officials say the total amount is over site says the number stands at over 90K as of Monday morning May 5th! Wow!

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in two still photographs. These subjects are believed to be responsible for several Breaking and Entering that have occurred along the route 151 corridor.
Anyone with information may contact the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office at (434)-263-7050. Investigator Scott Bradner is in charge of this investigation.

Thanks to some quick thinking by members of Wintergreen Police Department and crews from Wintergreen Fire, a fire from a lightning strike was confined to a hot tub and the surrounding deck area. “Wintergreen PD assisted by advancing all attack lines while the fire department established water supply. Initially there were only 2 firefighters and 2 policemen,” said Curtis Sheets, Chief of Wintergreen Fire & Rescue.
Essentially, none of the main part of the home was damaged from the fire.
