Grammy Award and Dove Award winning Christian Band Casting Crowns has announced they will perform at John Paul Jones Arena. Ticket prices will range in price from $25 – $40.
The band was first created in 1999 by youth pastor Mark Hall at First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, FL as part of a youth group. Later they moved to McDonough, GA where more members joined creating the band now known as Casting Crowns.
Discovered by contemporary Christian music legend Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns received a recording contract and vaulted to popularity in 2003 with their self-titled debut album. Quickly becoming one of the fastest selling debut artists in Christian music history, Lifesong followed in 2005, debuting at #9 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and later won them a Grammy Award in 2006 for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. After a run of very cold days here in Nelson, some milder weather is working into the area over the next day or so, before we cool down again for the weekend.
Overnight temps have been running in the mid teens in the valley and around 9-10° on the mountains. Daytime temps have been in the mid and upper 30’s mountains and low 40’s mountains.
As warmer air works into the area Wednesday and Thursday temps will be around the lower 60’s in the valley by Thursday afternoon and lower 50’s mountains. There is a chance for rain back in the forecast by Thursday night.
