The return, after three years, of the beloved family Christmas story, The Homecoming, by Earl Hamner.
The Homecoming is the heart-warming story of a family waiting for the magic of Christmas Eve to arrive – not Santa, but Daddy – told from the perspective of the adult Clay-Boy as he remembers the journey he took, on that snowy evening long ago.
Says writer Earl Hamner of The Homecoming, “It is remembered in my family that on Christmas Eve of 1933 my father was late arriving home. That, along with the love he and my mother bestowed upon their eight red-headed offspring, is fact. The rest is fiction.”

Performances will take place Thu. – Sat. at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. There will be a free Preview Wednesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. There will be no shows on Thursday & Friday of Thanksgiving week, Nov. 26 & 27. Though the slopes don’t have any snow just yet at Wintergreen Resort, they’ve already had a tiny snow back in mid-October. That was just enough to get everyone in the spirit for the upcoming season!

Long before the slopes up at 3000 feet are covered in snow, the people behind the scenes are prepping for the 2009-2010 season.

Our Paul Purpura, also a ski instructor at the resort, was at this past weekend’s rehire clinic that interviews and rechecks veteran and newcomer staff that will be manning the slopes at Wintergreen.

New comers attended two days of orientation while the veterans only had to attend one.

After the clinics, everyone was treated to a well deserved barbecue at Lake Monacan.

See you on the slopes!
