Red Mountain and Blue Deuce Entertainment in conjunction with Charlottesville Pavilion announce the Inaugural Top of the Hops Beer Festival presented by Starr Hill Brewery and Beer Run on Saturday, September 11 at the Charlottesville Pavilion in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Top of the Hops Beer Fest – Charlottesville will showcase the growing popularity of craft beers from around the world in a relaxed and friendly environment. Patrons will receive a commemorative sampling mug and have access to two-ounce samples of over 150 world-class craft beers in the four Beer Gardens.

The festival will also feature the Greatbrewers.com Brew University Education Area where patrons will enjoy beer seminars such as Cooking with Beer, Food Pairings and How to Brew Beer. There will be over a dozen specially brewed casks that will be tapped at specific times throughout the festival. Cask-conditioned beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized and is served from the cask without any additional nitrogen or carbon dioxide pressure. Proceeds to benefit Music Resource Center.

“Starr Hill looks forward to sharing the gift of great beer with our home town during the Top of the Hops Beer Festival. Charlottesville is such a great place to live with its natural beauty and cultural diversity. The one thing that we have been missing is a world class beer festival that we can call our own.” Mark Thompson, Master Brewer of Starr Hill Brewery

“Beer Run is incredibly proud & excited to co-sponsor the Top of the Hops beer festival in downtown Charlottesville, featuring craft beers from around the world. This is a historic time for craft beer in America, never before have there been so many breweries producing such quality and variety of craft beer. The Charlottesville area & Virginia craft beer scene are no exception, with four award-winning breweries within a stone’s throw of our fine city & more all over our state. What better way to celebrate this historic time for quality ales & lagers, than by welcoming the Top of the Hops Fest to downtown Charlottesville!” Joshua Hunt, Beer Run

**Top of the Hops Beer Festival – Charlottesville believes in responsible drinking and does not promote mass consumption. Local taxi cab companies will be made aware of the event in advance, and taxi service phone numbers will be listed prominently in the festival guide.

Nelson County, Virginia
We’ll have one more hot day today, then things cool back down again for the next several. Some people will make the 90° mark then we are talking upper 70’s and lower 80’s for afternoon highs during the remainder of the extended outlook. There’s even a slight chance of a stray thunderstorm today as a cold front moves through, but most people will see nothing. A slightly better chance arrives on Sunday.

More over in Tommy’s Audio weather.

Yesterday we didn’t get the chance to include all of Paul’s shots from the Labor Day weekend, but he did a very neat sequence shot over at Lake Monacan. Here they are below!
