Near Brents Gap

If you have followed us over the years we’ve kept up as much as we can with semi truck drivers, often with over length, trailers trying to navigate going up the mountain and through Brents Gap of Nelson County along Route 151. We often tell our Bingo card players to move forward one space on their playing card.
Thursday afternoon, a semi got stuck there trying to go northbound. As luck would have it, another semi was going the opposite direction, that was special.
Traffic was blocked on at least one side for well over an hour as the scene was cleared.
A similar situation became a regular occurrence on Route 664 ar Reeds Gap near the Wintergreen entrance over the years. Eventually VDOT restricted semis from going over that area. Though, some still slip through and still get stuck. The situation on Brents has never been addressed. So far.
The roadway along and near Brents Gap was open as of 4:40 PM when someone driving through let us know.
