For the first time in over a year, folks got the chance to view a decade’s old tradition at Wintergreen Resort, the annual 4th of July fireworks display on the mountain. The 2020 display was canceled due to Covid, but this year it was on in all of its glory!

Folks gathered on the mountain at Wintergreen Resort just before sunset Sunday to view 4th of July fireworks. July 4, 2021

Here’s more of Paul’s photos below from the fireworks at Wintergreen on Sunday night July 4, 2021.

Great to see the fireworks back on the mountain!

Here’s a look at some of our favorite fireworks from Wintergreen over the previous years.

And here’s our absolute favorite that Paul got back on July 4, 2011 with a thunderstorm off in the distance, this was an all time best!

See you next year on July 4, 2022!

  1. Now, Tommy, are you and all the other fans of “fireworks” — another Chinese import remember — willing to help try to find the terrorized dogs, cats and other animals. Fireworks are no longer needed. Laser light shows are better, less dangerous, and pose neither a fire risk nor noise factor. There are far better ways to “celebrate”!
