Some people in the area thought it was thunder late night December 31, 2012. Wasn’t thunder but a spectacular fireworks display put on at Wintergreen to ring in the new year.

Before night fell, crews with American Fireworks from Fishersville, VA hauled boxes and boxes of fireworks to the launch location at Wintergreen.

People braved the cold temps at Wintergreen this past New Year’s Eve (12.31.12) to see the spectacular fireworks being launched into the air from roughly 3500 feet. The elevation of the resort.
