NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura was shooting the fireworks display Sunday night up at Wintergreen Resort. Little did he know he’d get this fantastic shot of mother nature’s fireworks too! This rarely happens in the photography world, but Paul grabbed this one! Thunderstorms about 25 – 30 miles east can be seen in the background behind the fireworks display.

So glad you caught the photo as we didn’t bring good cameras to capTure the moments of fireworks and lightning. We were so lucky with the weather passing us by and awesome fireworks!

My family sat right behind you on the 4th and saw you trying to capture a good shot of the lightening and fireworks together. It was quite a show from Wintergreen and Mother Nature we will never forget.
