Wintergreen Adaptive Sports Kicks Off Practice Ski Session

Ski season is obviously in full swing at Wintergreen! This past weekend the folks over at Wintergreen Adaptive Sports held a practice session on the Tyro Slopes at Wintergreen Resort. Our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura, was there on his skis to capture the afternoon.

Wintergreen Adaptive - 021 — Wintergreen Adaptive Sports is a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation whose mission is to improve the lives of people with a disability through outdoor sports and recreation.

Wintergreen Adaptive - 320 — As of 2010, WAS offers instruction in alpine skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, and canoeing.

Wintergreen Adaptive - 263 — Each of the participants went down two slalom courses and were given advice on how to improve their skiing.

Wintergreen Adaptive - 159 — WAS has been in existence for sixteen years at Wintergreen Resort.

Wintergreen Adaptive - 098 — WAS has been especially committed to serving injured military personnel returning from the global war on terror. In a few weeks the annual Wounded Warriors weekend will be held at the resort.
