The first weekend of May kicked off as a busy one here in Nelson. As usual, this time of year things begin picking up as the temperatures warm. The annual Wintergreen Ascent took place this past Saturday. Talk about going uphill! The Nelson Farmers Market Cooperative also opened Saturday. They remain open until this fall.
Up the road a bit on Sunday the annual Pre-Mother’s Day Plant Sale was held. And a bit of bad news this weekend, firemen spent much of late Saturday night and early Sunday morning battling a blaze in Arrington. They got it under control within a few hours.
