Nelson County, Virginia
It’s been such a quiet year or two for hurricanes that we forget the season actually started on June 1st. There is some activity out in the North Atlantic this weekend. Very far away from the eastern seaboard, but none the less Invest 97, as it’s called by www.wunderground.com is meandering around out there for now. It’s nothing more than a low pressure area with less than a 30% chance of tropical depression development in the next 48 hours, but as we get into the summer more and more, we’ll begin to see more of these developments that may or may not form into something more significant.

Dr. Jeff Masters talks more about it here in his synopsis.

We’ll keep an eye out if it should become anything of interest!
