Alonzo Taylor is proud to be back on American soil this Veteran’s Day. Most folks in Nelson and Wintergreen know him as one of the friendly and familiar faces of Wintergreen Police Department. But Alonzo has spent his fair share of time thousands of miles away in Iraq as part of the military.
Members of The Wintergreen Resort Staff stand in front of a banner they signed and sent to Alonzo when he was in Iraq.Wintergreen Resort General Manager, Hank Theiss, accepts the special flag that was flown over the military headquarters in Iraq by Alonzo.

Nice story. Delighted (and relieved) that he is back safely!
I am honored as an employee of the resort to pass by Alonzo gift everyday. The flag is a reminder of all who serve and sacrifice their lives for our freedom. Thank you Alonzo.
A thoughtful short story about the gift of commitment and dedication, when one is far away! And, to a returning hero, God Bless you Alonzo! Welcome Home! Thank you for your service! The Etris Family
