As you’ll read about in the July issue of NCL Magazine on page 38, Dr. Rich Evans, and his wife Lynn Davis have officially opened Flying Fox Vineyard and their accompanying tasting room at Route 151 & Chapel Hollow Road in Afton. It”s just behind the Page house where Four Season’s Realty is located.
Below Rich shows off four bottles of wine during his opening day at their tasting room. In the background (right) Andrew Hodson, owner of Veritas Winery & Vineyard, dropped in to wish Rich and Lynn good luck on their opening. Stuart Harvey (to the left of Andrew) of The Wintergreen Wine Club, stopped by to check out the newly released wines as well.
Ironically, the opening day of their tasting room coincided with Rich’s birthday. Yvette and I couldn’t resist, so we dropped off a cake fitting of the occasion, one shaped just like the wine he has for sale. And who could have done such a supurb job? Of course! We got Sarah Leake of Cake Creations to whip up the custom cake. Most of you know Sarah from Basic Necessities in Nellysford.
Below Lynn pours us a sample of one of their red wines. They are good, very good!
To learn more about Rich and Lynn check them and Flying Fox out on page 38 of the June issue of Nelson County Life Magazine. Out on stands this Memorial Day weekend.
