Editors Note : According to at least one person who knew of the deceased individual, we’re told the man was homeless and the fire was accidental as he was trying to stay warm. We have another source close to the investigation that is telling us also it was accidental in nature. ‘
We have requested followup information from Sheriff Embrey on Monday to confirm whether there was foul play and it was believed to be accidental. We are awaiting a reply.

On Sunday afternoon Nelson Sheriff Mark Embrey released information about a body that was found at the scene of a car fire in far eastern Nelson County. Below is the department’s release verbatim.
“Approximately 0900. upon arrival, deputies observed a motor vehicle sitting off of Norwood Road which had been destroyed by fire. the fire was extinguished, but still smoldering, at the time of the deputies arrival. The local fire department responded to the scene
at the deputy’s requests for precautionary purposes.
While on scene, deputies located an unknown, unresponsive individual inside the vehicle. the unknown individual has been transported to the office of the chief medical examiner in Richmond, Virginia, for identification.
At this time, this investigation remains active and further details will be released.
