Wintergreen Resort – Nelson County, Virginia
In spite of the warmer temps this past weekend, Ridgely The Bear, Wintergreen Resort’s official mascot, was able to find plenty of snow above 2000 feet to officially cut the ribbon and open the resort’s newest attraction, Ridgely’s Fun Park.
The new park designed for small children, at Discover Ridge, includes a mini-tubing carousel, tunnels, a tee-pee gathering area, plus a gentle hill for tubing. Sessions are one hour and don’t forget the hot chocolate!
Our Paul Purpura was there to capture some of the fun in these photos below! Thanks Paul!
It is very rare for me to post comments about my work, but I am making an exception here because I feel these images really capture what I try to do during a photo-shoot.
As a photo-journalist, I try to photograph people being themselves in a meaningful and respectful way, which will hopefully bring them joy, and most importantly, preserve the memories of the occasion. Here, I tried to capture the excitement and joy experienced by children when throwing a snowball, or sliding down a hill in a tube. Hopefully, these images will evoke happy memories that will last a lifetime.
Happy New Year to you all. May you be blessed with good health, good friends, and much prosperity in the upcoming year.
Best regards,
Paul T Purpura

Paul — Nicely done! The camera can only record what the mind has already seen. See you out on the slopes.
