Updated 11:12 AM Most customers now report their power has been restored.

Updated 10:23 AM Some customers tell us they briefly got power back and have lost it again.

Updated 10:10 AM We have been getting reports from CVEC customers that the lights started coming back on just after 10AM. Melissa Gay with CVEC tells us, “Most of Martins Store and all of Laurel Springs were restored.”

Updated 9:10 AM : Melissa Gay with CVEC said crews have located the problem and it’s a tree down over a line. The crews are removing the tree now and will begin repairs.

As of 8:30 Monday morning over 6500 customers on the CVEC system in Nelson County are without power. “We are patrolling the lines now,” Melissa Gay with CVEC tells us.

The outage stretches from Wintergreen to Rockfish to Afton, Shipman and Wood Mill from the reports BRL has been receiving through our Facebook page.

BRL began seeing Facebook posts early this morning about the outage.
