Last summer on June 16, 2016 we told you about confirmation of Dollar General looking at the possibility of locating on the the vacant lot in Nellysford between Wells Fargo Bank and UVA Community Credit Union.
Dollar General did confirm to BRL they were looking at the property.
“We are currently in the due diligence phase for a new location on Rockfish Valley Highway in Nellysford, which means we’re interested in adding a new location to Nelson County, but have not committed to doing so yet. Based on our current timeline, I anticipate a final decision will not be made on this project until late winter 2017. Feel free to check back periodically for additional details,”

This past week we noticed a track hoe was present and had cleared some brush on the property. We contacted Dollar General’s corporate headquarters on Thursday afternoon to see if any decision had been made.
“We are still in a due diligence phase for a new store on Rockfish Valley Highway in Nellysford. Based on our current timeline, I anticipate a final decision for the project is expected by early spring.No, we still haven’t made a definite decision on the store yet,”
March 2, 2017 – Crystal Ghassemi with Dollar General’s Corporate Communications in Goodlettsville, Tennessee told us.
