As mentioned earlier Wednesday, severe weather was anticipated to moved across the area. Around noontime a line of severe storms crossed the Blue Ridge hitting parts of several counties.
The worst of the storms has moved east of the area and a previously issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was in effect started being peeled away by early afternoon Wednesday.
Numerous widespread outages were also reported by CVEC.
Another less intense and broken line is expected to move through the Blue Ridge late in the day before much colder air works in behind a cold front. It will continue to be very windy through Wednesday night behind that cold front.
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for the mountaintops along the BRP
We’re back in the lower 60’s by Monday and near 70° by next Tuesday.
