Painting the sign @ Garden Trade
Route 29 and 6 intersection
Faber, Virginia

Sign painting
If you’ve driven by the intersection of Route 6 and U.S. 29 then you have no doubt noticed the old Walton’s Mountain Country Store sign disappearing as the new Garden Trade sign takes it’s place. Last week the painter was up in the hot sun making progress.

Sign completed
By this past weekend most of the sign was done except for a few finishing touches to come.

Half of the weekend turned out great with perfect weather by Sunday. Temperatures were 10-15 degrees cooler than last week and the air felt much drier. Saturday was a mostly cloudy day until late in the evening with some sun working in just before dark. Sunday’s high here at NCL-Nelson County Life Magazine in Greenfield was a pleasant 85 degrees with humidities in the upper 30 and low 40% range all day making it feel really comfortable.

While we are on it, for the month of June we recorded 2.04″ of rain. Our high for June was 98 degrees on the 8th of the month. The lowest daytime high for the month was 65 degrees on the 14th. The lowest nighttime reading was a chilly 49 degrees on the 7th. You can look at all of the archive data from our NCL-Greenfield station in the month of June by clicking here.

On the current surface map northern high pressure will control our weather bringing pleasant temperatures once again and a light northerly wind on Monday.
