Senator Creigh Deeds says he has a problem with a 2004 law passed in Virginia that allows gas companies to go onto private property and survey without permission. In Nelson County a large number of property owners are refusing to let Dominion survey. In a related story, Federal Judge Michael Urbanski in Harrisonburg heard arguments from 5 Nelson property owners that have challenged Dominion’s right to survey property under the 2004 law.
