Anyone that goes into Basic Necessities in Nellysford on a regular basis knows Wednesday night is Kay’s regular wine tasting. But, this past Wednesday’s regular wine tasting morphed into an impromptu surprise 10th anniversary celebration for the quaint Nellysford restaurant. (See page 22 of the current June ’07 issue of NCL for more on thier 10th anniversary)

To Bev’s right is Mae Collins of Basic, to her right is Sarah Leake, also of Basic, who made the cake in her new Cake Creations kitchen. Far right is founder and current co-owner Kay Pfaltz. Not sure what Kay sees on the ceiling!

As word spread that the regular wine tasting had turned into a 10th anniversary celebration, lots of people stopped in to wish Kay, Bev, & Keith a Happy 10th Anniversary.

Though Noel Watson, Wintergreen Hardware, wasn’t around at the beginning of Basic Necessities, it was a great reason to check out the anniversary cake! She approves!
