Here’s the latest from CVEC on the power outage affecting Nelson and other nearby areas:
Appalachian power delivers energy to a number of CVEC substations as well as their own. Early reports indicate that Appalachian Power has trouble on their 138 KV transmission line between Lynchburg and a point to the northeast of Nelson County, causing outages in the following substations. Colleen, Piney River, Schuyler, Gladstone, and Centenary. CVEC is awaiting restoration of transmission services from Appalachian.
