If you’ve driven down Route 151 through Nellysford lately, you’ve probably noticed a bunch of new vertical posts in the ground just to the left of Wild Wolf Brewing Company. “We’re planting 400 cascade plants. Hops. We’ll put them into the beer. It will take them 2 to 3 years to come to maturity, but we’ll start making some wet hops, locally grown hop beers,” Danny Wolf tells BRLM.

These vertical posts went in the ground near Wild Wolf Brewing Company during the week of March 11th 2013. Eventually hops will be growing here.
To make sure the hops get plenty of water, Danny has been installing an irrigation system in the new garden.
Danny tells us the majority of the hops for the first couple of years will be used wet, once they get too many they’ll begin using a hops dryer, that dries them for you.

Danny says April 15th, is when the hops are supposed to be delivered.

Very cool!
