Spring arrived in style this past Sunday as folks at Wintergreen Resort celebrated the unofficial end to the 2010-2011 ski season. There may be a day or two left but the annual Pond Skimming marks the general end to the season as minds turn toward warmer days to come. Our NCL Mountain Photographer, Paul Purpura made the 2011 event, just like he has countless times in the years past.

Bang!This youngster was more than happy to get out of the 33° water at this year's pond skimming at Wintergreen Resort. Kim Holzer, is a Level III ski instructor at Wintergreen, cheers as she made it all the way across! This was her first try at pond skimming. Ouch! Wipe out!
