Nelson County, Virginia
Basically weather has been the headline since last month’s record snowfall here in Nelson. If it hasn’t been the snow, it’s been the extremely cold temperatures. The cold temps, though moderating a bit on Wednesday, are here to stay for at least the next week. A reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive by Friday into the weekend, keeping daytime temps below freezing all across the area.
The focus now is on the potential for more snowfall later this week, perhaps beginning as light snow in the late afternoon on Thursday. AccuWeather.com talks about the potential here, and what areas will most likely be affected the most. Winter Storm Watches are already in effect for areas way to our west in the mid-south 700 or so miles out.
It’s a bit early to be talking about exact amounts, but it does appear this will be an accumulating snow, just how much remains to be seen until we are closer to the storm’s arrival. Though, this does not look to be a major snow maker for Central Virginia, certainly not in comparison to what we just went through.
Tommy, you need to stop talking about SNOW. We are done with it for this winter. Just be positive and think NO MORE SNOW. LOL. Thanks for the updates, I will let you knwo if I hear something more about it. I do have a few connections with Sterling Weather and sometimes get up dates
I am with you on this Ray! – Usually one normal snow is enough for me, but after two feet all at once …
Oh no, my eyes may turn to snow! The horror!
