FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING..

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR CENTRAL MARYLAND…THE DISTRICT OF
COLUMBIA…PORTIONS OF VIRGINIA AND NORTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA.

* FROM 7 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

* LOW PRESSURE ENTERING WEST TENNESSEE WILL BE TRACKING NORTHEAST
TONIGHT. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED IN THE MID
ATLANTIC STATES EAST OF I-81…ESPECIALLY BETWEEN 8 PM AND 3 AM.
RAINFALL OF BETWEEN 2 AND 2.5 INCHES IN 3 HOURS WILL BE ENOUGH
TO CAUSE FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE OHIO VALLEY TODAY
AND TONIGHT. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN AHEAD OF THIS
SYSTEM. WIND GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE…MAINLY
ACROSS LOCATIONS ABOVE 2000 FT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT…ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
