Dinner Theater: The Wonders of Where

Each year the Nature Foundation chooses one place as their adventure destination. As always we will have the best naturalists, birders and interesting instructors lead us through these pristine natural areas. In 2008 TWNF will lead two amazing trips to Nova Scotia and Costa Rica. Join Liz Salas for all of the details of these two excursions. Cost: $5 members, $10 non-members. TWNF will provide coffee, wine and dessert. Bring a covered dish to share. Mysterious Ruins on Humpback Mountain

Explore ruins in our own backyard. In this installment of Highland Hikes Tom Marker will lead you to the Northrup T-28 wreckage on Humpback Mountain. Moderate to Difficult. Hummingbirds, Orchids, and the US Botanic Gardens

Do you enjoy watching hummingbirds in your garden? Do you wish you had more hovering over your flowers? Join us for a lunchtime talk at the US Botanic Gardens led by Bill Hilton, Jr., Executive Director of Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History on Gardening for Hummingbirds. We’ll follow the talk with a tour through the new orchid exhibit and a late lunch. Cost is $30 for Nature Foundation members and $35 for non-members. Bring money for lunch.
