Nelson County Life Magazine’s Web Edition first told you about the tragic murder of Afton’s beloved, Opal Page, Wednesday night as events were unfolding. As of Friday, the investigation is still in full throttle with a significant find by Waynesboro Police Thursday afternoon. Opal Page’s 1998 Green Chevy Malibu was located in Waynesboro. Police are pretty sure her killer stole the car and used it to get away after her murder. “The car is going to a secure Lynchburg facility when it can be processed in detail by forensics technicians,” says Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks.
There techs will be looking for any sort of fibers or DNA that can link the killer to the crime scene back in Afton.
