Join Foundation Director Doug Coleman on the Blue Ridge Railway Trail. Cost $5 members, $8 non-members. Pack a bagged lunch and bring water. Please register by Tuesday at noon by calling 434-325-8169..

September 1 7 -9 PM
Evening Reception for Local Photographer Christina Kline
The Wintergreen Nature Foundation is proud to present the beautiful photographs from local artist Christina Kline. As part of her love affair with the Virginia Mountains, Blue Ridge Mountain Sports manager Christina Kline has been snapping fantastic photos of the land we all appreciate. Join the artist in a wine and cheese opening reception at Trillium House (Wintergreen, VA) to learn more about her experiences. Cost is $5 for Nature Foundation members and $8 for non-members. Artwork will be on display and available for sale from September 1 – 9, 2007 during Trillium House business hours. A portion of proceeds benefits the Wintergreen Nature Foundation. San Juan Dinner Theater
Join participants of this year’s Foundation trip to the San Juan Islands and Vancouver Island as they show off their favorite pictures and memories. Enjoy the trip through their eyes. Please bring a covered dish, TWNF will provide coffee, wine and dessert. Cost for theater is $5 for Nature Foundation members and $8 for non-members. Trillium House Block Party
Enjoy an end of summer barbecue with all the fixin’s hosted by The Wintergreen Nature Foundation on Saturday, September 15 at Trillium House. Entertainment includes live music, carnival games, family scavenger hunt, and a Nature quiz for beginning and advanced naturalists. Call Liz at 434-325-7451 for more information.

Raptor Migration
Every year thousands of hawks and eagles use the Appalachian Mountains as a migration corridor south. Join Tood Culver to learn why birds undergo such an arduous journey each autumn and hopefully catch a glimpse of northern birds as they head south. Difficulty Level: Easy. September 19 9 AM – 4 PM
Explore the Karst Formations
Join the Wintergreen Nature Foundation to explore the fascinating karst formations of the Shenandoah Valley with a geologist-lead tour of Grand Caverns and Natural Chimneys. Cost for Foundation members is $30 and $35 for non-members. Pack a lunch and bring water. Sturdy shoes are essential and bring a warm shirt for the caverns. 14th Annual Golf Classic
The 14th Annual Golf Classic and Silent Auction will be Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Stoney Creek Golf Course. We have moved this event from Labor Day weekend so players can enjoy the newly remodeled Tuckahoe course. This annual event raises thousands of dollars every year to help underwrite the Foundation’s important work here at Wintergreen and with school children in the surrounding communities.
