After Months Of ‘Coming Soon’ Nellysford’s Don Lupe Mexican Restaurant Opens

Back in April of this year we told you about the coming soon Mexican restaurant named Don Lupe. A sign went up in the spring as people anxiously awaited the opening. The restaurant is in the former space of Margaritas Restaurant that closed two years ago this month after a 10 year run.

After a long wait the day finally came on Thursday – October 2nd when the door finally opened.

The inside of the newly opened restaurant has been completely gutted and renovated. It opened to the public on Thursday – October 2, 2025.

The space has a long history of restaurants over the decades, including Bistro 151, and Mossy Creek just to name a couple.

The portions we got on Thursday were very generous. Our friend Greg at the table had this nacho supreme. So much food he took some in a to go box for supper! He said it was absolutely delicious! – Thursday – October 2, 2025

Anyone that stops in for a meal soon will notice how clean and nice everything is.. They’ve done an excellent job at the renovation. Thursday – October 2, 2025

And the food? As Greg said about his meal above, we found it to be very good! And other than a very few opening day kinks, the first day went pretty well!
