“Virginia State Police is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Friday (May 10, 2024) at 10:30 a.m. on Piedmont Road in Nelson County.
A 2000 Honda CR-V was driving northbound on Piedmont Road, near its intersection with Galilee Road, when the vehicle crossed the center line, ran off the road to the left, struck a tree, and overturned.
The driver, Harry B. Bare, II, 63, of Bedford, Va., was partially ejected and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
