Wintergreen
Nelson County, Virginia
After some soggy, but mild days lately, the weather did an about face Tuesday morning as snow began falling in the higher elevations along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.
The snowfall was primarily confined to the higher elevations in the mountains.
Thanks to John Taylor @jstwg up on Devils Knob @WintergreenVA 3500’ where he’s saying it’s about 1.5” of fresh “wet snow.” This is from the deck of his house which overlooks the Rockfish Valley of Nelson. Tommy @NWS_BaltWash @NWSBlacksburg @CBS19Weather #vawx pic.twitter.com/4HsZ4ULl5y

For the immediate future rain and snow end. Brisk northerly winds will take hold Tuesday with colder temperatures in comparison to what we have seen for the last 10 days or so. No extreme cold weather is on the way, but definitely colder.
The next chance for rain or snow looks to be around the end of the week.
