There’s still a few more days on the calendar before summer officially ends on September 23rd. And, this week will definitely feel like summer with temps bumping near or on the 100° mark! Labor Day Weekend always signals the unofficial end to the summer season.
This past weekend one of the bigger highlights was the Rockfish River Rodeo. It was back for the second year in a row at Blue Toad Hard Cider in Beech Grove. After some logistical problems in 2022, the 2023 rode went off without a hitch!
BRL Mountain Photographer Paul Purpura came down into the valley to grab some photos of the bucking broncs, bull riding and more.

You don’t have to worry about being thrown from a hose or bull later this month, but still just as fun! Blue Toad is host to the Blue Ridge Mountain Maze. It’s just part of their fall festival that begins in late September.
