Sunday, July 9, 2023, Nelson County Sheriff David Hill released a Facebook video formally announcing his re-election candidacy for Nelson County Sheriff.
Hill was first elected sheriff in November 2015 and then re-elected four years later in a race against contender Daniel Jones.
Earlier this year in March, former Virginia State Trooper Mark Embrey announced his candidacy to oppose Hill in the November general election.
