Nelson County, Virginia

As predicted, in this post about watches for the area on Monday, huge storms with strong winds, hail and heavy rain pounded several counties in the Blue Ridge. The above photo  shows some of the lesser damage, but significant none the less.

Clock on the screen grab of the image above to go to the history of Monday’s storm at our weather station in Roseland.

Our BRL-Maple Brook Farm rain gauge in Bryant/Roseland of Nelson County (above) measured 2.99″ inches of rain before midnight.

Many other locations received even more rainfall and more intense storm damage.

We have a quieter week ahead with seasonal days and cools nights. Other than a renegade shower or thunderstorm, no organized activity is expected until we get to Friday into the weekend.
