Traffic continues to be a slow go this Monday afternoon as the wreckage from a tractor trailer is being cleared near the entrance to Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County. The truck missed a curve headed down the mountain from the Blue Ridge Parkway on Route 664. After flipping over near the entrance to the resort, the truck briefly caught on fire.

Miraculously, the driver of the truck wasn’t injured badly.
“It was minor injuries. The call originally came in as an entrapment with fire. We think the driver was going from I-81 to US-29 using GPS directions. We see this happen often,” WFD Chief Curtis Sheets told us Monday afternoon.
