Chief Sheets say fire is now marked as under control as of 11:43 PM.
Chief Curtis Sheets with Wintergreen Fire and Rescue confirms the fire was on Bryant Mountain Road. The fire was called in by a Moses Hughes Road resident. Chief Sheets went on to say that every fire department in Nelson County responded to the blaze.
-Amherst FD backfilling (to help man stations while local crews are out) Lovingston. Montebello FD staffing an engine at Roseland Crew Hall. Off-duty Wintergreen personnel recalled to staff both Wintergreen stations.
-No injuries reported thus far.
-Virginia Department of Forestry on the scene also.

Blue Ridge Life has been getting dozens of emails, texts and other messages regarding a large fire in the mountains above Beech Grove along Route 664 heading up to Wintergreen. Though near the resort Wintergreen Fire and Rescue advises there is no danger to resort and the blaze is contained by numerous fire departments on the scene including WFD.
