Nelson : Faber – Police Pursuit Ends When Suspect Crashes

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office along with the Virginia State Police were involved in a pursuit on RT. 29 in the Lovingston area earlier today. The pursuit started with a call into Nelson County 911 about shots being fired from a vehicle.

Photo Via NCSO : The driver was arrested and identified as James J.“Jeffery” Harris, a 21 year old W/M from Faber, Virginia. The pursuit ended when the subject wrecked his vehicle at the intersection on Rt. 29 and Rockfish River Road. Mr. Harris was taken into custody at the scene.

A firearm and other items were recovered from the vehicle. Mr. Harris was charged with eluding police, shooting into an occupied vehicle, shooting from a vehicle, possession of drugs, hit and run and several other driving violations.

Harris is being held at the Albemarle Regional Jail without bond.

  1. James Harris , the car you totaled was stolen and now the cops want the owner to pay the towing bill. I think you are responsible for the damages and shooting at people. This car was reported stolen the day it happened.
