Temps hovered in the lower 80s with a very sticky humid feel in the air as the Corkscrew Racing Full Nelson 5K started this past Saturday morning at Blue Mountain Barrel House in Arrington. In spite of the muggy weather there was a great turnout including our own Yvette Stafford, Publisher of BRL. Blue Ridge Life Magazine has been an official sponsor or the race series since it’s beginning.
Before everything kicked off, it waa already so hot, a cold Full Nelson was in order!
After the race, BRL Publisher Yvette Stafford thought 86° was more than hot enough for a Full Nelson.
Hop fields wait off in the distance as a runner preps for the race.
Pam & Lina Greenwood of Afton braved the heat with their daughter to finish the Full Nelson 5K.
Getting ready for the race.
With temps hovering in the lower 80s and a heat index in the lower 90s, it was a tough run.
