Central Virginia Blue Ridge
The warm mild temps we’ve been seeing during the daytime across the Blue Ridge will end this weekend. The 70°+ readings we saw last weekend won’t make a repeat this weekend, but may very well reappear by Christmas Eve. That’s not good news for ski resorts across the area. A few days ago they began cranking up the snowmaking gear. Recent temperature inversions in the mountains have halted snow production until the colder temps return. It It looks like some freezing winter weather finally returns by late this week into the final weekend before Christmas week. Wintergreen Resort says they will probably begin making snow again this coming weekend. Unfortunately it does appear we will see well above average temps heading into the days just before Christmas Eve.
I talk more about this in my Thursday weather below. Listen and have a great day!
