Piney River just got a little smaller and quieter in the past few days. Mr. Jimmy Parr, a well known icon of the small South Nelson community passed away this past Tuesday at the age of 80.
Above, our story writer / photographer Marcie Gates did back in March 2013 on the annual Chitlin Dinner at the Piney River Fire Department. Mr. Parr is in the top left photo (on the far right) smiling ear to ear, loving his days at PRFD where he’s been chief and most recently served as the president.
