Drivers along Route 151 and 664 had a slow go, sometimes a no go on Saturday while the Spartan 2014 event was taking place up at Wintergreen along with the Virginia Craft Brewers festival at Devils Backbone in the valley in Beech Grove.

Cars and buses eventually got stuck in a field adjacent to Route 664 in Beech Grove where the staging area was for the Spartan race.

Due to the muddy conditions in the parking area the buses eventually had to load and unload from Route 664 in Beech Grove.

According to people living in the area, road crews cleaned mud from Route 664 on Sunday to keep traffic flowing safely.
