Power starting to return for many @mycvec customers: Wheelers Cove, Rhue Hollow. Winterhaven. Afton. Beech Grove. On.
8PM via CVEC:
“CVEC crews found a tree on the power line. They have cleared it away and are preparing to re-energize the line. Unless there are other fault locations. power should be restored to the majority of those affected by this outage.”

Reports of power being out at Wintergreen first started coming in Thursday afternoon around 5:30 to BRL. After a Facebook post we began getting reports of power out in Nellysford, Faber, Afton, Greenfield, and beyond. “Stagebridge Road near the animal shelter has no power,” Patricia Newton Ashley told us on our Facebook Page. “Rockfish Depot Out,” Kevin Rose added from East Nelson. In all we had over 20 reports from various locations where power is out as of 5:43 PM Thursday.
“CVEC lost a 115 KV transmission line that runs from the Midway Substation south of Crozet to the Martins store substation, which feeds the substations serving Wintergreen resort. Crews are patrolling the line to identify the fault location,” Greg Kelly with CVEC told us just before 6PM.
