“I’ve been in the advertising business for almost 17 years, starting off at The News and Advance as their major accounts rep. I left there to work for Amherst and Nelson papers. Being raised in Amherst county it was a perfect fit. I knew both counties very well!” That’s how Kelly Mays described her history in the ad business. As of August 5, 2013 Kelly joins us here at Blue Ridge Life Magazine. To say we are excited would be an understatement! Kelly brings a world of experience with her.
“I knew it was time for a change in my life.” Enter recently born twins Joise and Riley. Along with her beau John and pets, Tallulah, Buford,and Romeo and Stella the cat, Kelly lives in the Temperance part of Amherst County on one of the family farms. She said that changes priorities in life and she needed the flexibility BRLM will allow while still doing what she loves. “I love the advertising and the print business, love seeing my ideas come to life. The people are my favorite. Love being able to help grow and expand their business. Both counties and the entire Blue Ridge area are very special to me. I’ve lived here my entire life, all my family is here. Many generations have lived in both counties,” Kelly adds.
Kelly’s no amateur. She’s come up with many ad products over the years, and won Virginia Press Association Sales Professional of the year for 2011.
Kelly will be handling sales all across our region in both print and digital mediums.
