* ACCUMULATIONS…8 TO 15 INCHES. UP TO 20 INCHES POSSIBLE ALONG
THE RIDGES AND ALONG THE INTERSTATE 81 CORRIDOR.

* TIMING…SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY…THEN TAPER OFF
THIS EVENING. SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON
WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR.

* TEMPERATURES…NEARLY STEADY IN THE LOWER 30S TODAY.

* WINDS…NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH. GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH ESPECIALLY
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

* IMPACTS…HEAVY WET SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL LEAD TO NUMEROUS
POWER OUTAGES AND DOWNED TREES. SNOW COVERED ROADS AND POOR

.STRENGTHENING SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK SLOWLY
NORTHEAST ACROSS EASTERN VIRGINIA TODAY AND OFFSHORE THIS
EVENING. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE PERIODS OF HEAVIER
SNOWFALL FROM THE GREENBRIER VALLEY EAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
SHENANDOAH VALLEY TO PARTS OF THE NORTHERN BLUE RIDGE. IN
ADDITION…UPSLOPE SNOW SHOWERS IN THE WAKE OF THIS SYSTEM WILL
CAUSE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL ACROSS THE HIGHER WESTERN
SLOPES INTO TONIGHT.
