Skyline Drive / Blue Ridge Parkway, VA
If you weren’t in the mountains of Central Virginia or the ridges of Skyline Drive you probably just experienced a cold rainy late February day. But those in the higher elevations, say about 1000 feet or higher saw plenty of ice. So much so that Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County, VA shut down the slopes for part of Tuesday. Everything will be operating normally on Wednesday.

John Howard of Devils Knob also captured this shot of ice encased tree limbs Tuesday afternoon atop Wintergreen Mountain near the Blue Ridge Parkway just north of Reed’s Gap.

By Wednesday the ice will be a distant memory. Tommy talks about temps in the mid 50’s with sunny skies in his weathercast!
